“Human Flesh is more hot and vivid then any animal flesh”
Carlence Roscoft
In America, there has been a trend of serial killers who have been making waves and movies have been made and loved by the people. Whether movies like Psycho has been loved and watched many times.
Most of these kinds of Serial Killer movies really make your mind think and explore the human beings killer mind.
Hannibal starring Academy Award Winners Anthony Hopkins and Julian Moore is a movie about a serial killer who loves eating human flesh. Like most of the movie sequels were in there has been an extension and the shadows of their earlier movies. Hannibal has some shadows of Silence of Lambs, but it tries to make its own mark with having the complete hangover.
Plot
I don’t want to reveal the complete plot of the movie and be a spoilsport. Now under the assumed name of Dr. Fell (Anthony Hopkins), Hannibal has become curator of an art museum in Florence where he relaxes and hardly kills anyone but he has an old victim who is having a close watch on him and wants to take revenge. (Check out the make up given to this victim). Hannibal Lectre has been listed as Top 10 criminal listed on the FBI list and is having heavy rewards on his name. Apart from his victim, there is Julian Moore who is on a hunt for Hannibal, then starts the cat and mouse hunt. Though it has some surprise ending which you can go ahead and watch it, instead me being a spoilsport.
Acting
As far acting is concerned, I don’t have to say anything because, the way Anthony Hopkins speaks and looks into the victim’s eyes, you are definitely going to get scared of the character he has played. Julian Moore looks good and plays her part very well as an FBI agent.
The good part of this movie is that, in spite of being a movie where in it is all about a Cannibal who eats human being, their has been only one scene were in he opens the skull of a victim, cuts the brain and makes him eat the part after frying. They have not shown more of such grousy stuff. Thank Goodness!!!.
This movie is more about the “Catch Me if you can” kind of stuff, wherein Hannibal Lectre wants to play around with Julian Moore but doesn’t want to actually kill her.
The movie is very slow and at times really makes you sleepy, don’t expect to the movie to be a fast thriller just because the trailers shown on TV looked very fast and pace. Though it has fare moments were you will get shit scary but overall the movie isnt that scary.
Don’t watch this movie on the small screen, the mistake I did. Because, the movie being a bit slow and has lot of dialogues you miss some important conversation while watching it on TV. This movie is worth watching only once because at times it looks a drag of some mix of serial killer movies. Although Ridley Scott’s direction has made this movie worth watching.
