Hello All!
This review is for the Hari Garh Restaurant at Lake Pichola, Udailpur. I and my family visited this restaurant during our trip to Udaipur on 29th Dec15. The Restaurant is at Hanuman Ghat and entrance is via a narrow road. The Restaurant door is Big and impressive with massive cared wooden gate. The innner passage has water spouts and greerery, leading to a covered verandah that has been converted to a restaurant - deewan style sitting by the lake. The first impression was good.
We sat down, relaxed eagerly waiting for the waiter. He came after 5 minutes to take our order. The glasses of water came after 15 minutes of wait, after 2 reminders. The food quantity was meagre and when this was brought to managers notice, he shrugged and said, that this is the size of our dish! For Rs.200/- they served us less than 5 spoonfuls of Chowmein! We also ordered Manchurian with gravy, which was left half unused as we had little chowmein!
I think they did so, just because they want customers to pay more and order extra. The food was so little, I hardly remember the taste. In less than 5 minutes, we were done and out of their restaurant. One thing I never went there again all during the 5 days I spent in Udaipur.
Hari Garh Restaurant is a classic example of tall claims - bad quality and service. This one restaurant is on my blocked list!
Udaipur has some eating places too - so we discovered - try Paliwal - close to Jagdish Temple - its famous for snacks and the owner bowled us over with his humbleness and food quality. There is another just opposite Jagdish Temple where you can get the best of meals at prices that will amaze you.
