Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson

Direction: Chris Columbus

Harry Potter is here again. Older, wiser, stronger and ready to take on the world that grows hostile with each passing day. A world where evil comes in many shapes and sizes:sometimes as an unscrupulous student, a slithering serpent, an unfriendly ghost, a gargantuan spider. But always as the cohort of You-Know-Who, determined to reclaim the world-and Hogwarts-for the wicked wizards.

It’s the same old battle between good and evil fought against Rowling’s magic-scape of wizards, Muggles, Mudbloods and Hobgoblins. Only this time, the evil has grown more menacing, Lord Voldermoth is getting desperate in his attempts to annihilate Harry and the innocence of the first adventure has been replaced with the tumult of pre-teen years. Harry, Ron and Hermoine return to Hogwarts for second term, only to find evil lurking behind every corner. The game of Quidditch has become more violent. The washrooms are the haunt of a wailing ghosts.

the water pipes are express-ways for in-house Anaconda and the water faucet is actually the entrance to the chamber of horrors. All it needs is a twist to open the floodgates of chills and thrills which see young Ron wondering why they can’t run after butterflies instead of bloodthirsty spiders and Hermoine end up ’petrified’ mid-adventure. The only hero in the spook show is brave young Potter who must save Hogwarts and its future by padlocking the Chamber Of Secrets once and for all. Does he succeed? You bet.

If Rowling ensures the Potter books are unputdownable, the director Chris Columbus sees to it that the viewer-old and young alike-walks out of the second film, lusting for the third, fourth and fifth... The thrills are larger - than - life’. The canvas is electric. Dobby, the house self is a scream. Prof.Dumbledore is a delight. HArry and his friends are mesmeric. Hogwarts is a school you wish you could enrol in. And part two of this millennium mumbo-jumbo is You-Know-What! And absolute must see.For you, your kids, your kith and kin....
