Not Quite Quiddish ! ( kiddish )

Hello All,

A saturday evening at R-Mall, Mulund is something that everyone looks forward to, especially if it happens to be watching a movie !

Now, Im not quite a Harry Potter fan, nor have I read any harry potter books, but then an ardent movie freak that I am, I decided to check out this adolescent little boy who seems to have captured the hearts and minds of many a little boy n girl.

Being the second Harry Potter movie that I was seeing , I was thankfully aware of most of the verbose mumbo jumbo that I was expecting to be subjected to.

The first thing that struck me in this movie was the wonderboy himself. he seemed to have grown a little old and a bit more serious in attitude.

Anyways, the movie is all about a tri-wizard competition in which participants above the age of 17 can participate. The participants are from 3 different schools. they have to ’’file their nominations’’ by dropping their chits in the goblet of fire n yeah , once confirmed, there is no turning back. And as the beardy old principal states ( sorry folks I dont know his name ! ) there is an element of a risk of life in this competition so all nominations should be put in after a good degree of thought !

And our dear harry Potter has his share of the cake when someone adds his name in the game and he cannot turn back !

Then, the beardy old principal’s another beardy old friend with a single eye and a fake leg joins the party ! ( reminds me of ’One legged Joe’ in the book treasure island ! aka this time around with a funny robotic eye n leg)

He is immediately put in charge of harry potter ! ( What else can u expect ? ).

The competition is good, good visual effects !... harry as usual does a pretty good job and shows his emotional maturity at such a tender age ( all that blah ! ).

The game also introduces ’’u know who’’ ( what was his name ?...Dormator or something ! ). Actually this is a real dark aspect of this movie. Im not sure if it is a good idea to show all this stuff to tender lil kids. its good stuff for teenagers though ! But is also brings out the best in the movie.

This part is handled beautifully and this is where the real crux of the movie lies !

The movie is handled very well !.. Though a little dark in character , it is recommended for a somewhat mature audience - 12 years and above only ! The visual effects are a treat !... Some good funny scenes, like the one in which the reporter comes to meet harry potter are a steal ! I must say, she bears a striking resemblance to an aged Marilyn Monroe !!!

Watch this movie on a nice saturday evening with your kids or friends.. I have not read the book so cannot appreciate the movie that much. But what I can guarantee, is that its good fun and worth the moolah !
