I had got hold of this book from my niece. I was caught up with the story hook, line and sinker.
This book has an unusual story ... the concept is interesting for children as well as adults. Right from the first page you will kepe on wanting to know what happens next. Thats the best compliment for a writer.. to keep the reader captivated by the plot.
The plot is full of magic , humor and interesting incidents.
The characters are unique and very funny. I dont quite remember the names but the names are also very unique.
The story is about a little boy Harry who after he is born is placed in the care of his aunt and uncle. His aunt and uncle receive a letter and this makes them behave very oddly towards this boy.
We come to know as the story is proceeding that he is a wizard and that keeps the uncle and the aunt and their son from behaving normally with Harry.
Harry undergoes tremendous hardships as he is treated worse than a servant by the family. He is not aware that he is also a wizard and can do magic.
Time comes when he has to school. He is supposed to be admitted into the prestigous school of Wizards.
He gets into the school and there starts the adventures of Harry Potter. You have to read this to enjoy it.
Then we come to know that Harry is considered special in that world and survived the attack on his life by the most dangerous and evil wizard of that world who is hiding because Harry on surviving the onsalught of this sorcerer’s attack is considered to be powerful and special.This Sorcerer was responsible for the death of Harry’s parents.
The evil wizard is trying to access a stone which has something to do with Immortality. This stone is hidden in the school premises, the knowledge of which is made available to only a select few but this secret is leaked out and Harry too comes to know about it as well as the sorcerer.
The sorcerer tries his level best to get hold of this stone but after all good oversomes evil and everyone is happy but STOP!!! This is not the end. There are a series of adventure with Harry in the following book By J.K. Rowlings.
I guarantee that if you like a good story you will be captivated by this book and would want to read more and more ....
