First ..I saw this movie in IMAX...so it was visually interesting ...second ...Harry Potter seems to have lost his charm ...I did feel that when I read the ’’Order of the Phoenix’’... but I guess some things are not cute when they grow up ...
About the film ... if one has not read the book , the end would confuse them up and after the movie is over, they would be wondering ’hey! who is the bad guy here ’?....I mean this is a movie by ITSELF -right ?... not Harry Potter - Part III...even the book has some explanations how the characters behave the way they do ...
I ended up explaining the movie to my husband .....he came back and said ’’ What happenned in the end?... what was THAT?...’’.... there is no reference to ’’Animagus’ what they are and why they are so.. there is no reference to who messrs.Moony, wormtail , Padfoot and Prongs are ...
Visually very interesting - some of the scenes my stomach did lil backflips - especially during the game ...Buckbeak - ahh!!... he looks good - better than all of the other characters put together ... a real good looking hippogriff I would say ...Dementors are very well visualised and Snape is his usual nasty self .....the knight bus was awesome ....I would love to ride one someday :)
On the whole - if you have read the book you have a better chance of understanding the movie - though this is visually more dramatic - my view is that ’’chamber of secrets’’ was a more comprehensibly made movie ....
Very few movie made from published novels match up to the book - and this likewise falls short but on the whole I think an effort was made and its still one attractive movie ...
