I thought I would put up a review on Hathways pathetic and shoddy service. I had taken a Hathway connection in Jun 2005. They installed in 3 days and internet was running!!! However the problems started when I shifted to another apartment in the same building. I had asked for a transfer of the connection which didnt happen inspite of calling them numerous times. This happened in April 2006. After a week of this shoddy behavior, I decided to cancel the connection and got a new one through Airtel.
I sent emails to their bangalorehelpdesk email id...but there was no response. Even after repeated calls to their customer care, there has been no response. Each customer care agent tells me that someone will contact me in another half an hour...but nothing happens.
This has been going on since the last 5-6 months and I havent got my deposit back. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVICE AGAINST TAKING UP HATHWAY CONNECTION.

I hadnt received refund of my deposit till February 2007. It was almost an year and I was kind of fedup with Hathway. I had spoken to Sumathi about the refund and she had sent me an email saying that I will be refunded around Rs 330 as against Rs 1000 deposit, which is like more than 1 months rental. When I called up again, I was given a lame excuse that the last payment that I had made was through HDFC bank and since this was different from earlier payments (ICICI Bank), this has to be verified...blah blah. I was so surprised. They have collected the payment but didnt verify!!!
I was completely disgusted and thought of approaching Consumer Forum for this. But then I read through one of the reviews here and got the email id of Mr Jayant who is GM/COO of Hathway at Mumbai. I sent him an email about my issues and believe it or not, I got a reply within 12 hours saying that it will be resolved. In a couple of days, I got some calls from Hathways Bangalore office confirming that it will be settled. After some days (and sending a reminder mail to Jayant again!), I got a call saying that I should come and collect the payment from their office. Which I did...
I GOT BACK MY DEPOSIT!!!
I think that the senior management at Hathway is very good, decent people who listen to customers problems. However, at the lower levels, it is all confusion. Customer care, Hathway offices etc have no coordination.
But I would thank Mr. Jayant and Mr. Vijay Yadav for getting this resolved.
