Two weeks ago my Hathway modem blew up! A big sound, smoke and a sparks all over the place. The blast occurred in the afternoon and blew up my CPU. A part of my CPU flew almost 3 meters away and hit my mother on her back.
When we called Hathway to inform and complain about this, someone came the next day and the person said he was there only to replace the modem, he did not give a damn as to what could have caused the damage or injury to my family and house.
When I asked to speak to someone senior I was put on the phone with a Mr. Naidu who sent some other people to review the matter but they claim it is not their fault. The cable wire that enters my house has blown up in more than 3 places yet they claim it is my fault that blew up the modem. An interesting bit of information I will share at this point is that none of the other appliances in the house were affected in any way and many items were on at the time this happened and they did not even get tripped off.
A few minutes back I again called Hathway and told this Naidu what are you doing about our case all he said is he will replace the modem. Nothing about the computer that was blown up or the risk of the appliances in the house being destroyed or danger to my family and me.
I would urge all those who use hathway to be careful as this could happen to anyone. Those planning on taking up this service DO NOT!
I am now going to file a case against Hathway. If anyone has had any bad experiences with this company please contact me.
