I am writing this review to make you aware of the new policy of Hathway on Unlimited plans. Since MTNL reduced its rates in March for Unlimited plans, Hathway too did the same from April 2010.
However they added a condition called as Fair Usage Policy on unlimited plans making it totally unfair.I have been using Hathway since past 3 years and get good speed and service from them in MUMBAI. In the month of August 2010, I too decided to go in for the unlimited plan of 512 Kbps since. They have various rates for 512 Kbps from 550 - 660 pm depending upon the period of the plan taken.Coming back to the Fair Usage Policy, from April 2010 - September 2010 they had a Data Usage Limit of 20 GB on 512 Kbps plan. That means if one crosses 20 Gb in a month the speed will be reduced to 256 Kbps and then restored back to 512 in the next month.
However from this month they have again reduced the data usage limit from 20 GB to 10 GB per month. I have crossed the said limit and now my speed has become 256 Kbps. This is worse as it makes browsing and downloading very slow and pathetic.I checked the website of Hathway and it mentions as per company policy new FUP limits.God knows who makes this decision and make life hell for us customers. Even after paying 600 pm for unlimited plans the speed is reduced.
So friends its better to take MTNL which does not have FUP
