Hathway guys are JERKS

I have been using hathway internet since more than a year, and the only reason being, hathaway is the only major service provider in my locality. So there were not too many choices...The service was pretty okay, "occasional" disconnections for 4-5 hours a week didn’t really bother me... Becoz I really know how the broadband service in India is supposed to be.Around 3 months back, when we got a new apartment, and again hathway being the only choice left, I called em up to inquire about what plans they could offer me.


A guy from the local cable guy comes home with hathway brochures.....oh yes Sai Star is the cable company who also has the hathway monopoly here...I asked him for 256 kbps unlimited plans.. and he asked me to go for hathway freeway plan which comes with some so called "perks".. He also specifies that if I pay for 6 months together he will waive off the modem deposit charges for me... I didn’t trust him.. I asked him to write him on the payment slip.. To my utter bad, I misplaced it...for 3 months I kept getting letters from hathway regarding my "OUTSTANDING" balance of 1186....When asked why? the guy says those were the modem charges...Wow... what a gimmick...


I called the local cable guy and spoke to Mr.Vishal from billing dept.. He assured me that since they promised they will waive off... and I should just be ignoring the bill...So thats wat I did Now after 3 months, a guy with an utter rude tone calls from Collections dept.. asking for the modem deposit.. I said" Dude why do u think I paid for 6 months in advance? Coz I was assured some perks right? And he says " Did we guys assure you or the local cable guy? If u want go and catch them not us... U owe us and u have to pay otherwise we will have to disconnect your service..I asked him" where do I go to subscribe to our services then when the cable guy is the only one who provides service in our area..


And he nicely says " Its upto you to figure out.. All I can do is let the dept know about what has happened... This is the financial year ending and you will have to pay, I have to answer my boss... Seriously I have never ever spoken to any customer service guy who has been as unprofessional as this fella...All I could say is " okay I am not really left with too many choices...


Since I have paid you guys in advance I am paralyzed.. I know I will have to stick to hathway till the next 3 months.. but then thats about it... You just lost a customer " :)This is wat u get from HATHWAY BROADBAND...1) Fake schemes and fraudulant people2) Outta service for at least 3 hours every 2 days   .............. and amazingly its still doing good business haa!
