I was one of the first people to take the connection in HSR Layout and hence have a big black media converter box in my balcony. Ive been charged around 2.5K for installation and stuff and 800 per month. To top this I also pay the electricity bill for the media converter.
Now the story begins. In the beginning it was good. But that lasted less than a month. In a month around 20 days id be struggling calling up those so called customer care to complain that the internet is not up. No one gets back. I had to finally threaten them that I would throw away the media converter. Voila...I get a call from the technical support guys and the problem gets solved. Ditto story every month. On top of all this, I never got the speed that they had promised. It was never even close.
Now comes to point of billing. The bill was sent sometimes monthly and sometimes bi-monthly. This time I dint receive it for 3 months. I took it as one of their billing problems like before. This weekend when I was totally dependent on these guys service so that I can work from home, I find that the internet is gone again. I call up the customer care and was shocked to know that they had suspended the service due to non-payment of bills. What the hell !!!.... how would I pay for the bills that I never received. Ok fine, I quicky go and drop the cheque at their billing office and get a promise from them that the internet would be up in 2 hours. By now you would have guessed what happens next. NO INTERNET till night. Not even the next day. I make number of calls to those guys and get some stupid excuses. My weekend is ruined becoz I was not able to finish the work that I had to and also I was running around and making calls to this stupid broadband provider. Right now I am writing this review from my office on a sunday nite.
I am totally at loss becoz I sit and pay montly bill and get internet only like 10 days a month. There have been times when I come home thinking will finish the rest of the work after dinner and then end up going back to office at 12 or 1 becoz of the poor service of Hathway whom I trusted and got deceived.
I wanted to know peoples opinion about these guys and came to mouthshut. I have created an account with mouthshut ONLY to write about Hathways poor service and the problems that I am going through after paying them the money.
Am also planning to put this thing in Consumer Forum. Hope it helps the other subscribers with better service.
