My dog Moju.....or should i say His dog, Me

When I was lost in deep thoughts about choosing the car for my next review, my alien dog came bounding in the room and ate my Idlis. So anyways….i’ve just discontinued the car’s review for the time being and opened a new window to write about my dog.

What can I say about this little guy? He’s a Pomeranian and his name is Moju. His name literally translated means a wave in the ocean. And its alternate meaning is a single sock. Why Moju? Well….my cousin’s dog is named Mogli. So we decided to call this guy Mogli Junior. Turned out to be too long a name. So we shortened it to Mo from Mogli and Ju from Junior.

Pomeranian’s have an default setting of having the biggest gift of gab. They can bark for hours without stopping just because a dog on the street is digging a hole. My dog is no exception. He can bark at a stretch for 2 hours which I found out, when there was a huge gathering of street dogs right beyond my house gates. Another thing I dislike about my dog are his preferences to bite. He will bite nobody else but me. I am the one single person in this world whom he has bitten and bites continually. Well….its partly my fault too….I often pretend to eat the stuff in his plate….so now he thinks I’m crazy about his food. As an act of revenge, he steals my food every chance and gets…….Thats a far cry from the dog you see in the movies, who’ll bring his food over to his master if his master is starving. My dog, will in more likelihood, bite me and eat the half biscuit hanging out from my mouth.

But having him has a couple of  plus points too, I’ve posted a link in the About Me section of my profile where I’ve posted a couple more of his pic’s if anybody wants to have a look.(MS, I’ll put my pic back in my profile in a couple of days….max) My point – He is the ultimate chick-introduction machine. All my friends(gals) are of the opinion that he is the cutest dog they have ever seen. And then often come in to my house to visit HIM. Even if I’m upstairs they’ll play with the little runabout for 45 min and off they go. He unlike me, doesn’t like girl’s very much. But he knows if he bites an unknown girl while I am around he’ll be put on a compulsory diet. So he kind of endures the girl’s fondling his ears.(I’m now trying to teach him that its okay, if he bites a girl who is disturbing him but is not pretty. but teaching him how to identify a pretty girl is not that easy….So now he looks at me when a girl is playing with him….if I nod my head, he can bite the girl if he feels so)

There was this one time, I was taking him for a walk, when this gorgeous girl brought her kinetic to a halt almost on top of me, got off  and said “hi, that’s a very cute dog, is he your’s?” And my dog answered “Arf Arf”. “Shut up” I said “she’s talking to me, and you’re the dog”. The girl started giggling and said “he seems to be an intelligent sort of dog and he’s very cute too….does he have a name?”  “Yea” I said “his name is Moju….and he’s a little cute……but he’s not that intelligent…….” Then Mr. 4 legs went and sat down on the floorboard of the girl’s kinetic. “Oooh….” Said the girl “I think he wants a ride……if you don’t mind, I’d like to take him for a spin”. “Sure” I said then took his leash off and tied it around my neck and sat down on a nearby wall. She comes back 5 minutes later “hey I lost your dog.” “Whaddya mean, lost my dog? I said”(Now he’s not the sort of dog who can get lost in our locality, he’s knows more roads than a Global Positioning System….Every morning, I let him out through the doors….he takes a walk around on our locality….and comes back……I only take him on a leash in the evenings, cause he has a habit of walking on the middle of the road)

“Well” she said “he jumped off at that turn over…….there”. “No problem” I said “So tell me what do you study?” She looks confused, hesistant and ill at ease……So I assured her “Trust me….he knows his way around here….if you want to check why don’t you come over to my house…”. We went over….me driving the kinetic….and sure enough little runabout was sitting there nonchalant like nothing had ever happened. So this girl runs over and gives him a hug and said “Ohhh….i thought I had lost you”.  and Moju gives me this look, who more than anything wanted to get rid off the girl….which was why he had jumped off the kinetic. Then she gave him a kiss(I watched….longing for one too.) Then she walked over to me and said “I’m glad hes back……you must be pretty relieved.” “who” I said, my mind still pretty much on the kiss. But I managed to stammer “yeah…yeah…very relieved”.  “So…” I said, walking her back to her kinetic  “will I see you again?”. “Ofcourse….i’ll come by and see Moju every chance I get, he’s such a cutie”

So that’s how it is….they’re initially attracted to him and then I take over after some days….hopefully.  .Next time we walk, we leave the dog at home. Bugger doesn’t seem to mind, he’s more happy when he’s alone.

I was reading lady_t’s review where she mentioned, that Pomerenian’s are easily the most alert dogs around and can quickly sense if an intruder enters. Well, my dogs no hot-shot at being alert……There’s this cat which often comes by and eats the food from his bowl, while he is sleeping 5 feet away. But I’ve never seen him wake up. Once I noticed the cat lapping up his milk, so I immediately shouted, “hey moju, moju….cat”. So he got up….saw the cat….and started towards the cat menacingly. So far so good….I watched proudly. Then the cat rose on its haunches and went “hissssssssssss.” That did it….Mr. Moju went back to his bean bag, jumped in and watched the cat finish her dinner. A proper watch-dog if there was one.

There is this one other thing……He is very protective of his food. Apart from that angry cat, he doesn’t let anybody else near it. He’s the kind of dog who can easily be bribed. Give him one boiled egg, and you can take away my T.V, my refrigerator, microwave, bike, car……everything. Give him two and he’ll stand up on two legs and point out our hidden safe.

I deliberately go over and say some stupid things to him like “hey, you’re the dumbest dog in the world.” but he’ll still wag his tail and look at me with those eyes which say ‘yeah-you’re-right-as-always’. That’s one thing I like about him……No matter even if I’ve robbed a bank, I’m still right….With him around, who needs to visit the confession box in a church.

All in all, I love him….and I’ll do just anything for him.Hey, gotta go…I am hungry and have to finish the Pedigree Dog Biscuits I got for Moju, because my mom gave him my Parle G Biscuits
