Miss it

In case you haven’t seen this film yet, well, miss it.

Hawa is full of great special effects but has a poor screenplay to go with it.

The story although unique... it lacks the punch.

Tabu is a mother of two, separated from her husband. She moves into a new house where after a few days she has a strange encounter.

She is raped by a ghost.

The build up is kinda scary and the location of Manali spooks you too. But that is about it.

The supporting characters in the film are all wrong and loud. Imran Khan plays Tabu’s brother who looks like he is an amateur actor. He sleep walks throughout his entire role. Tabu’s elder daughter is incredibly loud and irritating. While her younger daughter is completely clueless about acting.

Her best friend in the film tries real hard to play bummy chummy with Tabu. And her husband - who has just one scene in the film - but manages to be as loud as possible.

Shahbaaz Khan plays the doctor and is reasonably okay. And towards the climax comes Mukesh Tiwari who plays a para-psychologist. He tries his best to ape Ashutosh Rana in Raaz but does a bad job. In fact there is one scene where his dialogues are completely out of sync. Not to mention him trying to mouth english dialogues.

Tabu is the only nice thing in the film. But fails to hold your interest for a long time due to lack of original screenplay towards the second half of the film.

The stereotypes in a horror film don’t seem to change and all the effort put in by the special effect director seem to not impress you after a point.

Guddu Dhanoa who apart from Shaheed Bhagat Singh doesn’t really have a decent film to his credit fails miserably at this one too.
