Hawkins Normal Pressure Cooker

This is very good pressure cooker. We are using it for more than 20 years. We have 4 Hawkins cooker, among them one is MISSMARY model. This model is very cheap & efficiency is as good as general Hawkins cooker.

At first time, 20 years before, one day my mom was cooking thal. After some time, there was a loud sound like for 30 seconds. We all went to kichen & saw cooker was in its position but safety valve was fused. Then we replaced the valve with genuine one.

The important thing about the cooker is it is safe if you usegenuine parts.

I remember, my aunt ued the spurious safety valve for her Hawkins cooker, it blusted & she was not injured as she was not there at that time.

So, make sure that you are using genuine parts when replacing for your Hawkins cooker. So whenever needed , must go to the Hawkins cooker authorised dealer, they will serve you the right quality spare parts for your Hawkins cooker.

Now, at this moment I want to add some more comments.

Recently I bought one 1.5 ltr HAWKINS classic model cooker for my mess use. It has new whistling system which is different from the older style with large whistling system. It is pretty good but my choice would be for the older style with large whistling system. Company says that the new whistling system is fuel saver but the older system is also fuel saver. There is no difference of cooking time when you cook in older model and new model. I thik new model is more loud because it whistles too frequent even when burnor is at lmedium volume ( 3 whistles in 50 seconds) but older style has whistle frequency of 1 whistle in 50 seconds. I have compared this with 1.5 ltr MISSMARY model in my home ( my mom uses it daily) which has older style of whistling system. So, dont think that I am writing ambiguously!!!!!!!

So, it is clear that new model is too loudy. Otherwise it is okay. I am happy with that. Hawkins maintains their quality ... thats really great..................

I have one message to all users of HAWKINS COOKER. Please request the company to relaunch the cooker with older style of whistling system which is loud & clear.

Now I want to add some more experience and want to share with you all. My brother is going to USA for his doctoral degree. He wanted some cooking utensils and I bought one 2 LTR HAWKINS STAINLESS STEEL Pressure Cooker.

The price is too much higher as compared to HAWKINS other model-- 2 ltr classic Rs.650, 2 ltr Eco-base Rs. 830, 2 ltr Ventura Rs. 870, == 2 ltr Contura== Rs.730, 2 ltr Black Contura Rs. 1000. The price of my cooker was Rs. 1700., little higher. But the out put is jut just awesome!!!!!

I also know the price of 2 ltr FUTURA, that is Rs. 1900, but it is non whistling system, you have to maintain time for cooking. I do not like this system, though it is very good cooker.

The stainless steel cooker heats 3-4 time faster than normal aluminium cooker and very easy to clean and maintain. I think it cooks much faster as for chana dal-- it took only 3 siti, but for normal HAWKINS, my mom used to count 7-8 siti.

I want to add some informations.* Recently my mom replaced her 30 years old Prestige cooker with a HAWKINS CONTURA 5 LTR  Hard Anodised Body & SS Lid. This is just awesome in its look. One thing is also good that is its performance is just unbelievable.
