This is a beautiful temple build by the Pala king and later to be constructed once again by King raghuvendra narayan. The prime god worshipped here is the incarnation of vishnu, the man lion God Narashimha. As per buddhist historian, this is the place where Lord Buddha attained Nirvana. Doul bihu and janmastami are the major festivals celebrated every year.
The best part is this temple preaches both hindu and buddhist religion hence lot of pilgrims travel from far flung places to this temple. Next to it is a big pond or in assamese we call it pukhuri widely known as Madhav pukhuri. A beautiful and peaceful place to visit.
