Hazir - The maestros together

As a fervent listener of Ghazal music and ardent fan of Hariharan, I was delighted with this concept of wonderful fusion of ghazals and tabla. Hariharan’s fabulous voice is soothing to the soul, while Zakir Hussain’s brilliant tabla lies underneath, stirring a good amount of emotion within the listener.

Though, a must buy if you are a hard-core Hari Fan, a small word of caution. As you listen to this album you can very well feel that it’s a combination of two maestros trying to make their presence felt. You may find the Table hovering too much over the ghazhal and real contents one would look for in a ghazhal. Good example is the first song of the album “Marize ishq” where too much of tabla overkills the number.

None the less, as you go further and hear “Dard ke Rishte” you could feel the real Hariji and Ustaad coming together.
