Mine is still an ongoing experience and a big TV series which will give a fight to Ekta Kapoor soaps. It started from December around Christmas time starting with an operation of my mother who was diagnosed with cancer. Based on reviews we contacted Dr Shekar Patil and were considered lucky to get an appointment so quickly. Then forwarded to Dr Jagannath Dixit and after meeting their respective assistant doctors, the date for operation was set. The tentative amount for the operation was given to us and we were happy that it was within our budget. Then we were told about repeat tests, scans and other details which are supposed to be mandatory. Soon the day for discharge had come and then started the shockers. The final bill had 2lakhs Plus way beyond our limits. I had to run around and request people and after a hard negotiation, could get a concession . Then the chemo process had to start and after one month, had consultation and then we again had eye openers ready for us. We thought that the chemo would be started on the date given but we were given an estimate for it and asked to meet the surgeon. We waited for 5hours that day but Dr was in the OT and were told to meet the next day. When we came, we were told that we need a chemo port to be inserted and it was a surgical procedure costing 55000rs. I mean are we not supposed to be told before and educated. Then after two days get admitted for chemo. Ist time 48hours and next on 24hours. We are today for the second time and it is again 48hours all of a sudden and told that next time if we want 24hours, we can go but there will be a pump attached costing 2000rs and we have to come to the hospital to remove it once the medicine is over. Now with all due respect to the doctors, why all the information is not explained before .If the coordinator is busy, they can set up a information desk for first timers. And worst of all, the canteen called arogyam is so pathetic service and expensive that most of us go to the small darshini nearby as you will not get a Cup of coffee after 12 pm after noon and before 4pm in the evening. After 8pm no food and on Sundays and public holidays no food.
Just for the information of people, please ask for any untold expenses that you may expect.
