I purchased the HCL beanstalk back in april this year.The delivery was much later than promised.The reason why I chose the beanstalk was the amount of features it came with.I looked at LG, HP, ZENITH, PCS, LENOVO, etc but the beanstalk offered the most features and the best value for money.When I opened the system I was very impressed by the design and the style of the system, the cpu was very stylish and the wireless keyboard and mouse were absolutely stunning.And the ALTEC LANSING ATP3 speaker system included in the package is one helluva great sounder.The sound just blew mw away.Though the 17" flat CRT monitor is not very stylish , its not bad either.The system came with a lot of softwares but a few essential softwares like the ms office, encarta, etc were missing and is a big letdown.The configuration is very impressive but I think that HCL can provide a lot more to their customers.The 25 in 1 card reader is very useful.The speed is also fine and its very good for surfing the net.Now lets come to the negatives.The biggest drawback of the beanstalk in my view is the very bad service that HCL provides.For installing the TV TUNER CARD I had to wait for almost a month and because of the mistake of the dealer I had to reinstall the OS.I must warn you that buying the HCL BEANSTALK is going to give you frequent headaches, and you must be ready for it any time.Another bad thing is the quality of the material used for the cabinet, the DVDRW eject button came out after 2 months and I had to buy a new front cabinet to address the issue.The crash proof recovery software, HCL 1000 RECIPIES, OUR WORLD, INDIA TOURIST GUIDE, READNTICK, 1000 GOLDEN GAMES CD , are all crap. The beanstalk is a very good product overall.There is no perfect pc in the market today, all of them hace their own drawbacks and if you compare them with the beantalk I feel that the BEANSTALK is going to be right there amongst the top.So if you are looking for the perfect home PC, the beanstalk is for you.
