If you are going to buy hcl laptop because of a very attractive promotional offer or free gifts announced by them then you are at write place to read the review. Do not trust on hcl for promo offer or for free gift. I was registered for one of the promo offer in December, the offer was named as winter carnival offer.
Under this offer they ware announced to give free reebok track suit worth more than 3000 rs and a Nokia mobile phone worth 5000 and more rs. When i purchased a laptop i was assured by dealer in Mumbai , that the gifts will be delivered to your home address by company in 15 days. In couple of weeks i received an e-mail saying your registration is not successful. I was inquired to the shop owner about all this e-mail and what is the registration status. He said it is in progress and we will get those gifts soon.
I was e-mailed to the hcl support services with my laptop- serial number and other specifications to know what is the status. I need to confirm my registration status. There is reply after a week from an executive that."i forwarded your e-mail to my superior and he will inform you about your details." Then for more than 15 days there is no reply at all and no communication.
One day i received a call from hcl call center/ or a center where they co-ordinate about these promo offers, that "you are not eligible for the free gifts because we require original invoice copy and original warranty card and you were submitted the xerox copies also the promo code on site was not there." My friends just think to give me the free gifts they require. Original copy of invoice. And the promo code !! The offer name is not valid
I mean to say if i say "winter carnival offer " then it will not be valid for registration but the code is the only required by them ( which is not announced any where in advertisement or in their site of registration ) which they decided.These are the few example to decline your registration. And to avoid delivery of gifts to you.
Else the laptop product is ok. The average brand. Not so great as they advertise. The reason behind writing this review is to warn the people, not to buy this product. Buy the products keeping in mind that if there is any attraction of free gifts it will not be delivered to you.
