In June’ 15, I have been approached by HDFC sales guy offering ForexPlus card, whereby I clearly mentioned that I have multiple credit cards and am in no lookout for any new card.
That is when I was explained about so called features of this card: through which I could get movie tickets free every month with certain spends through this card.
Being a movie buff I thought this could be a good offer to go for. I then checked on their point of sales and I was told that it is accepted almost everywhere including shell petrol bunks.
With this assurance I started using this card and THEN came the truth: after 2 weeks from the receipt of this card one of the Forex executives called me to tell that movie vouchers offers is getting expired from July’15 onwards. Shocked with this unforeseen news I recontacted amex team and told them to verify this. They mentioned that movie tickets offer will be withheld from July onwards, but there is a possibility that it might continue.
Despite having to pay for the annual fee of this card, I happily signed for this and in no time received this crap. When I checked the documents shared with this card, I could clearly see that Movie tickets offer was no more a part of this fake scheme.
but Forex reward points are actually useless, until recently when we can pay for annual fees using these points. the curated collection from which we can buy using htese points was also not good, nothing to buy, on top of that the website wont work. Now we can use points to buy on flipkart, which is revolutionary.
That is when I contacted Forex team at their Gurgaon number and I was reassured that this offer was pretty much there on the card and there was no intent of discontinuing this offer. It was reiterated that this card is accepted at Shell petrol bunks.
Despite my multiple mails to the team on this closure of their fake card, I am still receiving messages to pay the annual fee of this card. I am taking this case to consumer forum to be able to teach a lesson to this fraud company and their cheap attempts to lure customers. I hope this review will help other consumers avoid such fake cards and companies to be able to fool them.
