My experience with HDFC has been extremely poor.
I have account in Sector 28 branch, Chandigarh with them. They absolutely do nothing apart from talking politely to you and making false promises. I gave them application to create RD from my Kid’s account, filled the form, provided to them, they politely committed to me it will be done. Nobody touched the form after that and today nobody knows where the form is!!
In another incident I gave them an application to close my account, did everything their staff member asked me to do including filling forms and writing applications, and you know what? Nothing happened. On my every visit to the Bank I was told some formalities are still pending. And then the twist, one day I went there and I was told that guy whom I gave application and form has left the bank. Nobody knew where the papers were after he was gone. Process started from the beginning and has not ended yet.
I can tell several such incidents. On another occasion, I needed to withdraw relatively large amount from my account, so I called them a day in advance and informed them of this. AS USUAL, they said, no problem, come and collect your money tomorrow. Next day when I went there, they told me there’s no money, only 100 rupee notes. And they guys fought with each other over if I informed them or not.
This is absolutely useless my friends. My sincere advice to you is STAY AWAY. Go to ICICI or ABN AMRO. This is not a bank, I am not sure why people call it a bank. I know they all suck, but believe me, nobody sucked me more than they did. They are the worst in the lot, telling you sincerely. I don’t want anyone to suffer like I did with them.
