Through this review I wish to warn the parents and guardians about the much hyped Meritus Scholarship. My son won the scholarship along with several hundred other students.
It was only after sending repeated e mails that we came to know about the results which were otherwise kept away from view as if the national security was involved.
Thereafter, dozen mails were sent by us in order to somehow get the scholarship amount and the certificate to which we were informed that we simply have to walk into the local branch of HDFC to collect the draft of scholarship amount and the certificate.
We followed the mail and "walked in" the branch but after asking the bank staff about the Meritus scholarship drafts they looked as if they were hearing the word for the first time in their lives.
However, we did manage to locate the person responsible for giving the bank draft and the certificate but he bluntly refused to hand over the Account payee bank draft and the certificate of merit without seeing some original identification proof of both the parents and the student dispite we showing him the mail from the HDFC Bank which simply asked us to "walk in" and collect the certificate and the draft.
However, the staff did not yield and likewise for the HDFC Bank to which we have already mailed our grievance.
As such, both the certificate of merit and the demand draft continues to lie with HDFC Bank.Similar was the grievance of around 9 other parents/guardians whohad come to collect the certificates. As such, OVERHYPED and extremely bad service.
