I hold a salary account. I have many good facilities and I am pretty ok with the services. They have installed an ATM in my office and which is in good working condition over 99 out of 100 times. There ATM network is good and most of there ATMs are fine. You visit a branch and you would not have to wait for an hour or so like ICICI bank to speak to a staff about your query. Even there website is self explanatory and has detailed information about their products and services.
One thing which I did not like is that they send your fixed deposit receipts by normal post which is never delivered. I think bank should send them by registered post/ speed post or some courier services.
Another thing which I did not like was that they charged certain amount of money because I made 6th transaction from another bank ATM. This might sound illogical to some people but when I was opening this account I dont remember any such thing was told to me. I was in the impression that I can make unlimited transactions in a month from other bank ATMs too.
Anyways there internet banking is good and easy. However they focus more on security and some times I have had a hard time. Like if secure access is blocked you cant get it unblocked right then and if you want to make an online transaction right then, you wont be able to do it. last time I think that I had to wait for a few hours or so. Anyways I think for the banks security comes first.
Secure access- For the ones who dont know, It is some kind of questions that are asked when you make a transaction using there netbanking. You select your own questions and answer them. You set up a few questions yourself and you know there answers. This is a security feature to protect you from online frauds. I think I am not able to explain secure access correctly so this is a link.

One good thing I liked was that I made transaction of 40000 at a POS using my debit card. Within a minute I got a call from HDFC and they confirmed if I had made this transaction.
One more good thing is that they are good in replying to emails. If you send them an email the response is within a day or so. Sometimes may be within 2 days.
Anyways overall the bank is good and staff is friendly and helpful always but about there security policies are a bit tough and customers may face difficulties at times.
