Ive had account with hdfc for more then 2 years. not like I chose to had no option its salaried account.
Am a frequent net banking user. when I compare HDFC netbanking to ICICI netbanking. when it comes to HDFC one need to register for everything inspite of access to yourinternet banking. wheres as compared to ICIC you a re sent password for carrying out transaction you dont have to register separately for third party transfer or for bill payment. ICICI offers pre paid bill payment, HDFC does not. HDFC allows you to change our ipin incase ya forgotten it. ICICI does not allow ya to do so. you have to wait for them for a 5 buiz days for them to mail ya the IPIN. HDFC netbanking seems more friendly then the ICICI netbanking.
Customer Service : Seems customer service is not briefed about the updates taking place on the system. Ive been misinformed most of the time by customer service rep. Had to go thru lot of hassle while activating my third party transaction. Since am into call center. I spend my time sleeping in day.. cant afford to miss my 8 hours sleep, hence cant got to a bank. have to do everything over the phone or net. Initially I mailed the email support for 3rd party trasnfer activation (3rd). they replied back stating I can activate it over the IVR or speak with the customer service rep.( I found same info on the site I could register it thru the ivr or phone banker. ) I Searched on IVR, it want to call up customer service, didnt want to add to his AHT and frustration as I know how it is in his shoes. Anyways I cldnt find any option on IVR. I call up customer service. I was informed its not possibel thru ivr nor thru customer service. Fill a form and deposit in any atm. Filed the form dully and hada friend deposit it at ATM. I waited for two weeks. my 3rd was not activated, called up bank rep. was informed I need to walk into a bank and submit it to a banker. What difference does it make you walk into a bank or you fill it online or you have it activated on net or ivr or with customer rep.
Since its a salaried account I was not charged for SBI transactions lucky me. recently I was being charged for the sbi transaction. SBI is the only atm around my place. the neareset atm is 15 mins drive form my place. I Filed in a complaint with customer service for I was not supposed to be charged. got a reply after two weeks. my corporate code has been changed. I was asked to speak with my HR and the person from hdfc dealing for my company. I spoke with one of the assitant of the hdfc personnel for our company. I realized I was misinformed by customer service. my corporate code cannot be changed since am with the same company for two years and been using the same account. I was assured the charges will be credited and theyll look into the issue as I was not to be charged. I keep calls from customer service ( not telecallers ) about pre- approved personal loan, am in desperate need of a loan. Since my company is catagorized into black listed ones. HDFC wont give a loan to us. They would only provide loan to us at 20% reducing if we havea pre-approved loan. pre-approved loan is on the basis of ones relationship with the bank. Ive got HDFC LIC( 9 mnths old ), HDFC Gold credit card ( n 1/2 year old ) and a salray account (2+ years old). Alls well maintained compared to my other friends.
Ive been informed of 1, 20, 000 amount as pre-approved. its less then my current requirement. when the banker runs my if thru the system they see theres a pre-approved loan with with a different code hence they cannot give me the loan. My standings with the bank are better then of my frens. his pre-approved loan is approved. On what basis was the calculation done. ??? why is the customer service rep not aware of this. How many people like me are getting run around. ??? my company ios black listed why black list me when I have got good standings with the bank. why was my friend offered a loan adn I declined... ???
Things can be much simpler & better
In the end we all know nothings perfect. Doesnt make a difference which bank you have an account with. they all function the same way.
