Here’s HOW it all started- I have a salary account with these guys.
First take - it so happened that I called them up - mid may- asking for someone to
contact me on Car loans (New). Was promised this in 24-48 hours - apprx. 1-2 , working days. fair enough, I thought. days went by without any reply.
take 2 - Called them after a week - here again going thru the tele processes I got a call froma guy who wasnt even comfortable handling queries in english (sorry if I sound too much ’angrez’).
take 3 - Again make a request a week later 2 guys land up. go thru entire process of car-dealer- price. I was to get some documents and keep it ready the next day- which was a saturday. Come sat , all documents are done. No calls from them.
take 4 - Call the guy after a week - and he doesnt recollect. He is like ’ which loan? did we meet? yr number? whats yr name? Office ? did I meet you myself’ etc’
take 5 - Call tele marketing ; tell them that someone DID contact-explain what happened, ask them to send someone. co operation guaranteed by the telemarketeers. no response.
take 6 - One week passes; same process repeated.
take 7 - Again a week over. Decide to send a mail to them ;get a response that someone would call me - no vail.
take 8 - Again make the call . (i know what the reader must be thinking now- its answered below) one guy to come over next day.
take 9 - Call came in the morning; meet fixed time at 3. none landed up. get a call by 6. ’ when should I come? I was busy today- couldnt come. was in another part of town’
take 10 - Another call is placed - this time THANK GOD - this guy comes in and has given me the details. lets see what happens.
Now to answer the question the reader may have by now- WHY am I adamant on HDFC? simple, it being a salary a ccount - thought- the procedures would be easier. Still why did I not TRY any OTHER bank. I did, I id. called ICICI. got the same 3 working days reply.
no response after that.
......was wondering if I am the LESS previleged one OR does it happen to OTHERS?
.....maybe there is a lesson somewhere. I should NOT buy that new car...!!!!
