The Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), came to my rescue when we were desperately looking to move into our own house.
We had already approached many finance organizations. But the Officers representing the respective companies / financial institutes, were either too "pushy" or very "naive", which usually confused us. Most did not even highlight the benefits of availing the bank/financial institute’s services. They just wanted us to enroll with them, with no inclination to solve our queries / concerns. With much disappointment, we just half-heartedly gave the initial check on service charges to one of the financial institutes.
Then many near and dear ones advised to approach HDFC. Finally, we did call HDFC, and enquired details on the company’s housing loan services. HDFC promptly assigned a Loan Officer, who was not only highly knowledgeable, but also had high etiquettes! The Officer came to us, and in all calmness and politeness, walked-through our case. Then there was a simple test on the documents required and the documents available with us. On the very same day, the Officer described the Loan industry and its functions. Also adding to the conversation, brief information on HDFC’s contribution. We were extremely thrilled by the Officers conduct, and information about the industry, and almost instantly we threw a mini tea-party.
The following morning, we withdrew our file from the earlier institute and enrolled (HAPPILY and with no fear) with HDFC!
It so important for the bank / institute’s representative to be poised with customers (prospective or otherwise), because, customers recognize the company / bank, and will always associate services, with the representative’s behavior. I will say that the HDFC took care of us, all along and amazingly within a week, we had our loan passed! What we expect from finance companies:
· Smile and serve, and pay that relevant attention
· Mention all that the company has to offer
· Care for the customer
HDFC provided us all that we required, and today, we are proud owners of a lovely flat and we regularly keep in touch with the same Officer, whose ever energetic and yet respectful talks, only want us to invest more with HDFC.
