I traveled to USA relying on pre-paid card from this bank. HDFC bank claims that its card cannot be used without live authorization. i.e., one cannot swipe the card store the charge information and send to bank later. A liver terminal is always needed to use this card. But this bank allowed two $2000 transactions which were not transacted by me.
The transactions were duplicate to what I did in hotel. Hotel claimed it never made any such charges on card. So it was like I was running short of $4000 in a foreign trip. I followed up with bank staying awake late night. Nothing helped. Even finance guys from my company didn’t bother to help me much. So if you are going abroad taking a pre-paid card, then this is not a bank to rely on. I rate it worst and permanently black-listed for any future business with them.
