Im writing this feedback to find answer for two questions.
Does any one else have this kind of experience before from this bank?
Does any other bank uses these kind of repayment harassing method?
Im their 5 year old customer, with good reputation. No late payment, nothing pending or anything. I remember the first time I went to join this bank all member at the bank behaved well with smiling faces. I only need to sign for the papers all done by them. It was one of the best bank I ever see. A happy customer for 5 years.
Ive took hdfc jumbo loan against credit card 2 years before, monthly payment is 2300. I was paying it properly last 2 years. Last month my account balance went down and autopay did not debited the amount. The bank charged me about 360 for late fee, RS 450 for return fee, plus some tax etc. a total about 3400 and a new due date last this month. 1 week after my previous due date an hdfc representative called for not paying the amount. He told me to pay amount as soon as possible and I said will pay on 3 days after that day. After some time I received call from them regarding same from bank and he repeated the same, I cut all subsequent call from them. The next day at 10am I start receiving calls from them, about the same loan. I keep cut the call and I received approximately 50 call from them that day. Next day about 77 calls. It continued every day.
They are speaking in a manner "you should pay some how today, other wise we will call again" in small threatening manner but in safe language to indicate they are not threatening. When I try to tell something he just keep telling "you should pay some how today" again and again and again and again. One another sentence he was yelling "dont talk to me about due date or fine you should pay today"
Their call ring continuously one after another with new phone number using some automated system. Ive put all numbers(more than 10 numbers) in reject in my phone using a software. But they start calling my home landline line number and telling my family that I was not picking the call. If I would answer their call I need to sit all day for them to answer a TOTAL OF OVER 750 calls in just few days(This figure is not over exaggerated) . Im thinking If I dont have an android phone how I should have handled these few days? One option I should not use phone at all both mobile and landline. Because of continuous call for the first time my family afraid a little, thinking Ive cheated some bank or something. They are doing intentionally to irritate us to make payment. I never knew about this kind of new generation banking going around us. Ive good history till last month, I doubt how they should have behaving to others. What if they have no smartphone?
This bank is only suitable for those who can put money in bank. Not good for an average or below average peoples. You can take a loan if you are confident will not fail a single time and buy a smartphone first if u dont have one.
