I have no words for their pathetic customer service. I had problems with ICICI and Ctibank too, but, none like with HDFC. Be it Signatures, Change of address, third party funds transfer, we are treated like criminals summoned to the nearest police station. I have absolutely no clue why one has to visit nearest branches to update communication details, enable third party transfer etc.(btw. with HDFC I first time got to know that third party transfer needs enabling. never had such a problem with ICICI and Citibank).
Two days back, my debit card was blocked. When I ask the Phone Banking Officer why was it done, the reply is Security reasons! They have been foolish enough to give away the same number to another card user. such dumb mistakes I would not even expect from a third grade bank. Now they ask me to pay a visit to their bank, fill up forms & wait for next seven days for a new card! If there were any shame left, they would have processed new card for me without causing any more trouble! No, they are HDFC, they want me to take the trouble, you see, customer service seems to be "customer doing service for the bank!"
I, like many of my colleagues have a salary account with HDFC. Its high time being patient, I better request HR to shift to another Bank. I just cannot imagine fate of 700 odd colleagues of mine!
These days, Jobs are no more at fixed locations, most of the IT employees travel often, relocate within the city etc. I dont know which twisted mind made a policy that every time you shift location you need to walk into one of the HDFC Bank branches and fill up change of address & charged for it! I dont know what the hell their netbanking service is doing.
From my experience with HDFC for past 2.5 years, it seems to me that its neihter managed with sanity nor is it for sane community. Its policies are made for criminals, but they follow the same with sane.
In short I have never dealt with such a cheap & shameless bunch in the past when I had account with ICICI and Citibank!
