I have my account with HDFC for the last 5-6 years.
Have found them to be really at par with any of the international banks.
I have had my share of problems with them - like with their Netsafe product.
This product is designed to safeguard you against any fraudulent transaction over the internet by providing you a temproary credit card number which is valid for a single transaction.
Unfortunately, the card kept getting ’dishonored’ at many websites, but I was being charged for the same.
Had to call their customer service a lot of times to sort out this matter.
But there are so many things, like their prompt service for the Inward Remittance Certificate[IRC] - if you receive wire transfers from abroad - then you should also have an IRC to prove that you have received this money in legal manner.
These guys promptly credit the wire transfers and the IRC is automatically dispatched via courier and you recieve it immediately.
Their ATMs and conveniently located everywhere in Mumbai.
I recently took a 2 wheeler loan and got a very competitive deal.
There charges are reasonable as compared to monstrosity called ICICI.
Requesting cheque books etc online is superb.
