Netbanking sucks!!!

This mini review is only about HDFC Bank’s Netbanking feature. I enrolled for netbanking only this week, and just now received the password.




  • Logging in takes 5 minutes - have to go thru 3 pages just to log in. (userid and password are to be keyed in successive screens  - have you heard of this??!!)




  • I wanted to change my email id as it was showing my old id. So went to contact details page, it showed my old email id, but did not allow to change the same.






But in the next page (where the details that were changed are summarized), the old emailid is shown, as if it is part of my changes.




  • I checked the rest of the site, there seems to be no way to change the emailid. Registration for online statement needs the correct id, but it still doesnt allow to change the old id.




  • To top it all: I went to Help page, and posted a query, asking them help to change my mailid.






Guess what the message after submitting this page is?


"HDFC Bank will get back to your registered emailid with the reply!!!"


I give a score of 2/5 to netbanking, because it allowed to do some other things, albeit not so easily. But as far as HDFC Bank itself is concerned, I rank them as the best I have seen (I have / had accounts in atleast ten different banks due to my shifting career  / location). Though they may be expensive in terms of interest rates, their service has been the best always.


And the worst? probably ICICI Bank!!!
