I had HDFC corporate salry account while opening account they said u can maintain zero balance so once I mobed to another company I had icici account and in my hfdc account I had 1000rs balance I used to receive statement copy by letter from hdfc and from 1000rs it went to 0 balance. I did not view account statement assuming saving account will have same balance and after 3 years they send me sms alert sating your account have zero balance maintenance minimum balance. Then I went to bank they say once salary is stop then corporate account will move to normal saving account and u need to maintain minimum of 10, 000 deposit or pay 400 rs annual maintenance fee.
I asked u did not tell me bank employee say whenu sign while opening account u should have read all terms and condition, usually common man will just open account and will not read all terms and condition, in my case it is same and now to close account they asked me to pay 3000rs I said I did not receive any notice by letter, then as per bank policy atleast u need to pay 50%. So I paid 1500 for not maintaining balance .
Please beware of zero balance account in HDFC.
