BANKING ON PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELPED BUILD HOME

Money..Money... this word really sharpens everyone’s ears and why not this is the most important source for a human being to survive in this planet. Even in olden times there were banks but it was more of a traditional way. Now with a boom in technology, it’s more of plastic money, where every thing works on a magic card.

In today’s world before choosing the right kind of bank, you have to take into account some of these things.

  1. Convenience: This is the most important thing. It should not be very far from your residence, as during emergency you may want it as close as possible. Timings of the bank should be flexible enough so that it doesn’t clash with your daily routine.

  2. ATM: As we talk of fast cash, ATM is the most important before choosing a bank. See to it that, its got wide coverage and has maximum ATM center.

  3. Customer Service: Without proper customer service no banks can survive, so see to it that it has got at least 247365 customer service.

  4. Phone Banking: Phone banking is now common, as you want your things done sitting at home with one phone call.

  5. Online Banking: If, everything is on the net why not have a banking on net. Now most of PVT banks do have online banking.

HDFC

My first bank account was with Punjab National Bank as things had to move faster I shifted to HDFC (Thanks to my earlier company)

I have been using for past 18months HDFC Bank account. Although it’s a corporate account provided by the company, where you have Zero balance.

I have explained why, I prefer HDFC with ratings from 1 to 10. In most cases its been full marks but I always feel you can never be 100% as if that is the case then there is no scope of improvement. And according to me no one is 100% perfect

Convenience:

Location: HDFC bank has got maximum branches and is located mostly near the residential place. The location of most their branches are either in Central Business Area. Take for e.g. their branch in Vashi; New Bombay is located in the Business and Residential area. So it’s convenient for everyone.

They have a branch at Worli near Poonam Chambers so, its again one of the business area.

I had been to Delhi, Green Park for some business and they indeed had a branch their and it was really easy for me to have transaction done in a day.

But apart from Bombay, Delhi, B’lore, they have very few branches, so they have to look in to this.

Rating: 9/10

Time: This is one area where HDFC has to really look into. The office timings are from 8.00am to 2.30.pm It’s really sad when you have nationalized banks having a 12hr operation from 9.00 to 9.00.

Rating: 6/10

ATM

They do have wide network of ATM but still they lack behind ICICI.

Rating: 7/10

CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is one area; I would like to give full marks to HDFC. Its not like Citibank or HSBC where you have to play around with that phone for around 20mins trying to understand the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and then get someone on line. HDFC does have an IVR but its short and your are not kept on hold for long.

Rating: 9/10

PHONE BANKING

Believe me, I do most of the banking through phone and it is done pretty fast.

Rating 8/10

ONLINE BANKING

Now slowly, I am shifting to online banking, it’s going to take time for me to get online. But, it’s a good service on the net. You will never find their site down, but sometimes it does take time to load.

Rating: 8/10

Overall, guys every thing needs to grow and the way they managed the Housing Finance division, I am sure they will achieve that kind of status.
