Initiated home load process with HDFC. They made me fill up online as well as paper forms. all documents were uploaded directly on their portal. Got email from one of the sales team member to share all that information again on email and resend all attached documents. On asking why these details are being asked again when everything has already been uploaded on their home loan application portal, I was given a very lame excuse that submitting online application and uploading documents is something that anyone can do on my behalf and that they wanted to reconfirm everything on email to confirm its me(loan applicant) who is providing all the details. This is really a rubbish reasoning and doesn’t justify HDFC asking customers to spend hours filling up the online application form and uploading documents then their representatives sending you fillable documents on whatsapp and again asking same details over email. just a waste of time and efforts. I am not sure if this is same for other banks but would definitely recommend to go for other options like ICICI and stay away from this shitty process set by HDFC
