I have a Credit Card from many banks like HSBC, Standard Chartered, ICICI and among them is HDFC too.
The customer service of HDFC Card is atrocious. They do not have any online Banking/Queries. Many a times when I did call them, I was put on hold for a painful long duration or else they did not pick up the call, so finally I had to call a Mumbai long distance. It seems they get some commission from Phone companies for making the customer wait.
All this was not enough and I got a Mini Card from HDFC through Courier. I had decided I was not going to use this card and there in the next statement I had Rs109 Charged for the mini card along with it were different insurance schemes charged.
When I called up the Customer Dare (Customer Care), I got a reply that that please pay the Mini Card fees and we will make your Card a LifeTime Free Card. I was also asked to send an application to revert back the charges for insurance and all those junk stuff. I told them that I had never applied for the same, but they stuck to the line that it starts automatically and to end the subscription you got to send an application.
So I took the best step of all, I cut all their Card in Pieces and and dropped it in their Box along with the application to end everything.
And you bet, I am the most relieved customer of HDFC Credit Card without their Cards.
If you want a lot of HDFC agents calling you for trying to sell different products, the first step for you is to get their Credit Card and I promise you will the most busy person in office answering all financial HDFC Calls.
