I’ve had a HDFC credit card for over 10 years now(Got it in May 2005). This is my personal opinion on HDFC credit card. Over the last 10+ years, though there were a few confusion on the card usage, there has never been a situation when I can say I was unsatisfied with the service provided by HDFC cards.
One basic point to remember is that credit card is not your money. So when you use others money, be careful. Simple thumb rule is pay the monthly bills(not just the due amount). This will ensure that you never pay a rupee in fine or interest. Base Rule: Use a credit card only as a replacement for carrying and paying cash.
While taking a credit card only look for your basic necessity instead of looking for points and gifts.
HDFC bank with my experience has been very supportive in handling most of my requests. Email their customer service desk instead of calling them so that you can get your point clear and get a written commitment from them. Also, don’t loose your cool with them and they will definitely help you.
