In simple words DO NOT EVER IN LIFE GO FOR A HDFC CREDIT CARD. This is pure non-sense and if you would like to know more, see the mail below which I had written to the manager/customer care dept.
I am tired of these guys and I will never recommed this card to anyone in this life.

My Mail to the Customer Care Dept.:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am really sorry to say that I have not got any kind of help from the customer service department till date. This is regarding my credit card. I will NOT like to disclose my card number in a mail as its not safe. But you can always call me on 98110 42508.
Brief History:
My HDFC Bank Savings Account has been put on hold due to some discrepancies in my card payments. Here I will like to add that I have been paying the due amount every month. Last month as I was out of India, I had asked the Collection person to collect the same from my home but nobody turned up to do so.
Having said so, my account was put on hold WITHOUT informing me. I am really surprised by this behaviour of the bank and I would like to ask a simple question. WHY ?
I am tired of calling the Phone Bankers as they are not of any use at all. They talk non-sense and are not guiding as to what is to be done. I was given a Number 011-51574430 till 06 to get in touch. When I called up that number nobody answered the line for 2 days. Yes the ring was going! Am surprised!
When my wife was able to get someone on that number, she was asked to give her mobile number to them and assured that someone will call up. But NO-ONE called up.
Am facing a lot of problems and this is really a shame. I never expected any kind of this thing from HDFC.
I would like to meet you in person as I am really Really TIRED of this whole thing and I will like to meet you in person. Am tired of PHONES.
