Recently I spent a huge amount using HDFC credit card for the first time in my life. Usually I do not spent more than 2K or 3K per month on credit card but this time for buying my household things I used HDFC credit card. I was aware I have to pay this money in time or else it will attract huge interest and default payment.
On date of statement generation I called the call centre and asked if my statement is generated and dispatched, I got a affirmative answer, I took the break up also on phone from them and reconfirmed everything....3 day gone by , 5 days gone by 7 days gone by...10 days gone by.
I didt receive the hard copy nor the soft copy of my statement. I called up again..they made a request for duplicate statement...5 days gine by and again no statement was delivered to me neither physical copy nor soft copy. All the time executives are assuring the statement was dispatched so I asked them to give me the track records of the dispatch but no co-operation on this front too. I want to make card users aware that please be careful when you use your card for bigger amounts, as per your records the banks see what the person spend regularly and if suddenly you spent a huge amount on card the bank purposely delays sending the statement so you have to pay interest. My regular statement arrive in time for 2K or 3K but I want to ask Why this time 3 statements ( 1 original and 2 duplicates) generated were not delivered to address. HDFC bank is pathetic.
