I have a bad experience with HDFC bank credit card division. When the HDFC bank credit card was sold I was told the card would have a credit time period was 30 days. Later I realized the Bank was giving a credit time period of less than 15 days. The HDFC credit card sales team sold the credit card on false promise. There was some discrepancy in the credit card bills for the month of November 2011 and December 2012.
I lodged a request with the credit card call center asking to re-issue me a fresh credit card bill so that I could make the payment based as per the fresh credit card bill. I kept waiting for the fresh credit card for more than two months but the fresh credit card bill never arrived instead in the due time the bank added late fine, fee, levies, taxes and surcharge in the subsequent bills and kept sending me the bills with the additions. In-spite of repeatedly calling up the call center for clarification and justification all I heard is as per bank credit card rules and regulations the late fines have been added.
Also my credit card which was valid till 2012 was broken and destroyed immediately and the same was informed to the credit card call center in the month of June if they were not reverting back the late fine, fee, levies, taxes and surcharge I would not be using the HDFC bank credit card any more and please consider the same as cancelled.
After following up with the credit card division till June 2012 I informed the call center if the late fine, fee, levies, taxes and surcharge are revered I will not be able to use the credit card. I made the final payment in the month of July 2012 as per the purchases made minus the late fine, fee, levies, taxes and surcharge. The bank kept sending me the credit card bills adding the late fine and finally they debited Rs.4046.85 from my HDFC bank savings account on pretext of bank credit card rules and regulations. I kept on following it up with the credit card recovery agents, executives as well as my personal banker unsuccessfully.
The bank is sending me credit card bills every month and carrying forward the late fine, fee, levies, taxes and surcharge. Although I kept following up with the senior management and requesting to revert back all the late fine, fee, levies, taxes and surcharge and also the amount debited from my saving bank account. The bank says it is following rules and regulation and I need to pay up the dues which is completely unjustified and unreasonable.
While lodging my innumerable complains with the hdfc bank call center I came to know that there are no supervisors or managers who attend to calls in the call center which was very hard to believe. Also the email ids that were provided by the executives were not working and the calls to almost all the credit card agents and executives land up on a common number with the officer asking me to narrate the whole story from 2011 to 2013 and then gives a standard answer that he would get back to me.
I have been using credit cards from other leading banks but this is the first of its kind and I am completely unsatisfied with the services of HDFC bank credit card division and I believe they are more interested in their targets than keeping the relationship with their customer.
