Initially when I was contacted I was told the HDFC is offering a credit card without annual charges for corporate employees. Later, Ajay told me I have a pay an annual charge of Rs. 500. When I told him you had offered me zero annual fees, later he told me he will process my application for a Platinum card which does not have annual charges. When I asked him why you told about Times card, and told does not have annual charges, and got the form filled for Times card, there was no answer from him.
Later I told him to go ahead and process the application for the different card which he wanted to offer. He started to ask me to give mobile number which is not registered in DND. I felt this requirement to be very surprising. Do I need to take a new number just to apply for a card? You also did not check while calling me for the first time whether I am registered in DND and while submitting the form you are asking for a different number!
Finally I told him its fine if he’s not able to process the application further and asked him to return the documents. Till now I have not got any reply and there is no response when I call him.
So please think a lot before you apply for a card from HDFC. I applied because I had a card from HDFC from 8 years. But I feel the bank has lost the responsibility and the responsiveness it had earlier when it was still growing.
