Very Bitter Experience

My Sister was hospitalized for the treatment of Pneumonia. She rang the insurance agent and presented the docs for the cashless claim. She prepared the paperwork o while she was in the hospital. In the wake of seeing that her breathing condition had worsened because of pneumonia and realizing that she had a past filled with asthma, they characterized the whole treatment as "treatment of prior conditions" and denied the claim. She had been paying the premium for a long time. They declined to listen to anything that we needed to state. The doctor faxed another set of documents clarifying this was pneumonia. They declined to re-open the claim. I have never witnessed such a terrible and unethical cutomer service experience. Join with HDFC Ergo in the event that you are expecting nothing at the end of the paid premium.
