Easy to buy but irresponsible customer care

I had applied for HDFC click2 protect policy on Sept 8, 2013 on their online portal. The process was fairly simple, but takes a long time as lot of things needs to be filled. Make sure that you have scanned copies of ID proof, address proof and income documents. It took a considerable amount of time for the next steps.


I got the appointment for medical test on Sept 27, 2013 on one of the clinics. In the evening, they called me to inform that the venue for the test has been changed as the clinic proposed by them did not have all the facilities. I am really not sure why they had proposed it earlier.


As all the tests were fine, they issued the policy to me and dispatched it by Blue Dart on 07th October 2013. They did not mention the complete address and contact number in the shipment. The shipment was returned to them on 21st Oct 2013. Later I contacted them and they asked me to update the correspondence address. I had to go to a HDFC life branch to get the address updated. I requested them to mention the contact number along with the address in the shipment.


I got a mail from them after 3 days indicating that the address has been updated. Later they dispatched me the policy document again on 29th October 2013. But, again without the contact number. I had to follow up with Blue Dart to get the policy document. Finally I received the document on 08th November 2013. I am really not sure how the customer care works with HDFC life. They take your request, but do not fulfill the same.
