I have applied for LIC Policy ONLINE to HDFC Life. I have paid the Premium as per the rates mentioned by them ONLINE. I am 26 years old male working with IT Company at Bangalore.
Last year I was insured for Rs 50 Lacs with HDFC Life.Policy expired in Dec 2014. HDFC Life asked me to appear for medical test to their nominated Medical Test Center I presented myself for the Medical Test.
HDFC Life sent me mail saying that my Fasting Blood Sugar is high so Premium Rate will be enhanced. They have offered to refund the premium if I do not agree for enhanced premium.
I wrote to them to share the the MY Medical Report showing high Fasting Blood Sugar Report and other Reports.
HDFC Life has sent mail that they will share the report post my acceptance of the enhanced premium.
Sir,
This is unfair practice by HDFC Life as:
If I refuse to pay higher premium I will be categorized as high risk or declined risk.
If I pay the enhance premium I have to pay enhanced premium every year.
I have got myself tested for Fasting Blood Sugar, after I received communication from HDFC Life it is well within the normal range.
I use to get regular medical test since last few years and I can send the reports, in all the reports Fasting Blood sugar level is within normal range.
This is malpractice by HDFC Life to extort extra money from prospective Insured and they are not sharing MY MEDICAL REPORT with me.
I would request your kind intervention on the issue and stop HDFC Life from duping the Customers.
Hope to receive positive response from IRDA who protects the interest of the Policy Holders and may stop fraud by the Insurance Companies.
