HDFC Life Customer Service not professional

I have a unit linked policy opened 5 years back with a hope for investment return and Life insurance. An agent just taken couple of signs and policy is active(deducted money) but they never sent any policy docs and no policy statements till 4 months with many follow ups.


I have been watching market and NAV over 5 years and HDFC Life is doing below average as compared to competitor’s. After realizing losing on invested money, I have tried to surrender the policy. Here my experience with HDFC Life customer support is not as expected. I came to abroad and tried to contact via phone/email. Email response is very slow and half the information. I have get reviewed scanned copies via email and sent same to  Vijayawada branch.


At Vijayawada branch, Operation team reviewed and told to different set of docs than customer support. Finally asked for phone numbers to talk directly and customer support gave financial consultant details. I tried to reach that consultant and he told he left organization 2 years back(not sure whether they have dedicated employees/consultants and no idea of who left and who are in company). Overall lot to write my frustrated experience with HDFC Life customer support and the way it’s service with customer.


I am still struggling to complete surrender process and hope will get out of it very soon.
