Seriously, I’ve been running salary account with HDFC bank for last almost 8 years and hardly faces any problem but lately these guys have become pain in my A#$*&(sorry) to be very honest.
I sent them an email that I was to start with SIP, and within just few hours I got a call from their Mumbai branch confirming that one or our sales will be visiting you and they’ll call you before they come to check for you availability. I asked them to come on Sunday and they did come on Sunday. I was surprise that they’re working on Sunday as well.
Now, the real frustrating experience started, I asked the sales rep to not open DEMAT account, I just want to go with SIP and he assured me that you request will be processed as per your requirement only, after almost three weeks(after so many follow ups), I got a message that my DEMAT account is opened successfully, then I got another SMS, that Rs. XXXX as been deducted from your account toward DEMAT account. I politely asked to close that account as I never requested, that sales rep has done this to earn some incentives and that too without my permission. They closed my account, as per them, but then again I got another message the Rs. XXXX has been deducted, as you’ll have to pay some fee if you close your DMAT account before one year. Seriously? WTF. It has been almost 5 months now, but the issue has yet not been resolved.
