I recently had a harrowing experience with a so called online job portal, Head Honchos. I was looking for a switch and they were able to convince me to buy their "Platinum Plan" for a fees. Days after buying the plan online, I could not establish any contact with the elusive personal representative.
It was only after writing a mail that someone called back informing me of my dedicated representative who would get in touch with me. As weeks went by, not even a single opening came by and all the representative had to say was that the market is weak, economy is in a slump and I should consider joining at a salary lesser than what I was already working for (which was hilarious) if I wish to switch. And, all this while I was getting calls from regular consultants who were trying to pitch various roles/profiles to me.
When I wrote an email regarding this to their CEO Uday Sodhi, he called back saying that some action would be taken and he understands the concern. When I demanded my fee back, he was incommunicado. The business model for such organizations is that they lure first time consumers and thus the purpose of this mail is to warn members of this community to be careful before opting for such services.
