My father expired two weeks back in HCG - BIO, Bangalore. He was suffering from advanced Pancreatic Cancer and secondaries to Liver. I’m not just writing this review in anger since my father is expired, just wanted to share my experience at the Hospital and its not personal to any one at HCG.
I found that this hospital is not a good place for palliative care, even though we had taken triplex bed facility Nurses were not available when ever there is an emergency, Patient attendant has to go and call them several times then only they will turn up saying we have lot of work can’t come as and when you call. On the day when my father expired he suffered a lot for last ten to fifteen minutes, my mother went and begged the Nurse in charge to immediately attend and inform the duty doctor, had she attended him immediately he would have survived for few more weeks. I know that he is in final stages of life and is not going to survive for long, then also we were treating him, its the duty of Nurses to come and attend the patient when ever required, that is what the intention of hospitalization, if they have some work they have to complaint higher ups for more staff deployment instead for complaining patients.
Out of all of them there are only one or two good nurses but you wont get them all the time. But Doctors are good they respond in time when required.
