Grab Ur Heini Today !

First things first. Under the beverages category it should be HEINEKEN and not HEINEKIN.

Apart from Heineken, the beers I have taken till now include Kingfisher, San Miguel, Carlesberg, Tiger, Anchor, Guinness, Fosters etc. And this is true confessions after ’ My Experiments with Beers’ - Heineken is The Beer.

I delved a bit deeper into the history of this great brand. My source was mainly https://heineken.com where myself and some of my friends are registered. The Heineken history commences on 16th December, 1863 with Gerard Adriaan Heineken purchasing Hooiberg brewery in Amsterdam. On the extensive travels made by Gerard, he came to know about changing brewing habits. He was quick enough to adopt the new method into Heineken processes. In 1886, Dr Elion, a pupil of Louis Pasteur developed the Heineken A - yeast. This still forms the basis for the distinct taste of Heineken beer brewed in Holland or 20 other countries across the globe.

This golden colored Lager beer feels smooth on your throat , which is great when served chilled. As the company claims ’ So natural even the bottle is green’. It leaves a nice after taste also. A bottle of Heineken on a hot afternoon, after work hours, for that matter anytime gives you a refreshing feeling.

I find the beer a bit more stronger than Carlesberg, Tiger, KingFisher etc. This is inspite of the alcohol content being same at 5%.

What can you munch along with Heineken ? Virtually anything. From Chicken Wings, Ikanbilis(A Malaysian dish of spicy small fried fish) to AndaBurji ( The Indian egg preparation ). For feasting with Heineken you can choose anything - rice, pizzas, naan or noodles.

Heineken is priced a bit higher than its competitors in the SEA - South East Asia - market ( Dont have much idea about the other markets). However I should say the price is reasonable enough for the beer. Recently they had a Christmas promotion in this region which gave a Santa Shoe shaped beer mug free with 12 cans !!

The bottle shape is also nice. Drinking from the small Heineken bottle itself is a pleasure. However I find a slight difference in the colors of the Heineken bottle and can.

Availability of Heineken is an issue atleast in India and SEA. Anyhow I find that Heineken is marketing actively in Asian Markets. This should increase the availability. However, in many outlets, atleast in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) I find promotion offers of other beers displayed on Heineken boards. May be a matter to ponder for the company’s marketers.

So final judgement from a dabbler in beers trying to become a connoisseur:

Grab your Heini today ! And then you will bid adieu to others !
