After having repeatedly seen the Henry Harvin Education advertisement on FB, I checked their website, saw good ratings and enquired for a course on the 23rd of September’22. I received a call from a counsellor called Shiksha on 24th evening. She just went bragging about the innumerable benefits I would avail if I sign up for the course. The course cost was 17, 500 and was supposed to start from the 3rd October, 22.
During the signing up process, I kept asking about the batch timings to which she only said, I would see that only after the payment was made. Finally, I made the payment but still could not see the batch. She said she will email the batch details by the 2nd of October.
There was no message or email from her even on the 3rd of October, so I messaged her, In response to that I received a call from another counsellor called Vidisha who stated no batch was starting until the 19th of October and they will email me the batch details on the 17th. I waited for them to get back to me on the 17th but in vain.
Finally, I wrote to their support team. A guy named Ajay called(sounded like a typical parrot who just kept saying one line “I am from the management”), I explained the whole issue to him. He said no such batch was going to be conducted. He apologized on behalf of Shiksha but refused to refund the money saying as per the company policies no refund will be made.
I completely failed to understand how an institute like Henry Harvin Education charge for a course which they are not even conducting. Is it legal in India to cheat people this way? Later I requested him to at least send me the study modules and the certificate for the money paid by me. That was also not done. In fact, both Shiksha and Ajay never answered my calls.
I also wrote about this to Kounal Gupta, the founder and owner of Henry Harvin Education and requested for an urgent action but he did not even bother.
I have been cheated and robbed of 17, 500 for a course by Henry Harvin Education that was never conducted.
I know some people might have had a pleasant experience with them, but there are also lot unfortunate victims like me.
The amount may appear small to some people but I believe the Indian government does not give the right to any institute to charge the money for a course they are not conducting.
I urge all those who have been cheated by Henry Harvin Education to come together and fight against this fraudulent institute so that the central Education Ministry can take appropriate action against Kounal Gupta and also cancel the license of this institute if needed.
Last but not the least, I want to say there’s nothing wrong in being an entrepreneur at a young age and having a start-up, but cheating and robbing people of their hard-earned money is just not acceptable.
