Review of Hero Swing.

In these days when the life is so hectic and monotonous , I thought let me do something which I always felt was for kids and children in their early teens. Bicycling.

One thing was for sure that I will go in for a ATB( All Terrain Bike) with gears. Given the cycles I had in the past( BSA SLR and a Atlas), I was inclined to buying a Hercules Top Gear bike. It was then that my eye fell on the Hero Swing. The best points of the Hero Swing are as follows

1.)The frame is wonderfully designed to absorb any form of shock and it gives one a complete riding pleasure. In fact the frame has 3 position for adjustment of suspension based on the rider’s weight and height.

Uppermost position for riders weighing 80 kg or more. Middle

position for riders with weight range of 65 to 85 kg. Lowest position for riders weighing 65 kg or less.

2.) Front Shock Absorbers. These are the best I have so far seen . It absorbs shock in an amazing manner. No longer does going through ditches and over speed breakers hurt ones bum.

3.) Gears. The Swing is available in 3 varieties. Without gear with 15 gears and 18 gears. In a 15 gear model there are 3 cogs in the front and 5 at the back. This combination gives you 15 gears. The 18 gear model has 6 cogs at the rear. The gear shifting mechanism is very simple. On the handle bar on the right side the lever is present for shifting the rear gear from one cog to another . On the left side the lever is present for the cogs at the front. Shifting of gears is very easy and smooth as well. Using the gears I was able to reach a speed of 40-45 kmph. Also on very low rear gear( position 1 & 2 ), it is very easy to climb steep slopes.

4.) Handle Bars. The handle bars are well designed. Also there is a rear indicator for safety

  1. Seat is a big ill designed. It is not all that comfortable as one can expect but over a period of time one gets adjusted to the seat as well

6.) Brakes. The brakes are pretty good but they make a screeching noise when applied.

Overall this is a great bike to buy for biking enthusiasts. I recommend this because of its superlative features and its price as well.It costs 2600 for gearless one, 3050 for a 15 gear one and 3200 for a 18 gear bike.
